New year, new me. Clique as it may sound but let’s face it, every new year is our chance to start anew. Despite the challenges we’ve been through for the past years, we are still motivated to improve ourselves to be better. One of the ways to have a better self is improving our lifestyle especially on the food we eat. You might probably think of a new diet right now or checking effective ways to have a healthy body. Well before hitting RCG gym, let us know the ways to live healthy this new year:

1. Eat a variety of food

According to Dietary Guidelines from Americans, 2020-2025, a healthy balanced diet is composed of proteins, grains, vegetables, fruits, dairy, and oils. Choosing different food from each group over time can give you a variety of nutrients. Dark green leafy vegetables like kale provide iron and folate while orange vegetables like carrots provide vitamin A. Some people are also trying out to go vegan. By going vegan, you can still get proteins from different plants and beans.

2. Add physical activities to your daily routine

Work, errands, studies, and other personal tasks keep us busy. But fitting a small exercise break into your schedule helps keep your body healthy. A stretch for 15 minutes after walking in the morning or taking a 10-minute walk during your lunch break will be a good jumpstart. You can check different workout ideas that are easy to follow on the web too. No more excuses. After some time and deciding to go it further, it would be the best time to hit the gym in Sanford. RCG gym, in particular, is just not the ordinary gym to go to because they take a holistic approach to fitness and sports training. RCG fitness and health gym Sanford emphasize member education. We monitor your blood pressure. We talk in-depth about nutrition and give you access to a nutritionist. We talk about medications—and getting off them—and give you access to a pharmacist.

3. Choose healthy habits that fit your preferences

Of course, prioritize yourself because you deserve the best things in life. What foods are an important part of your culture and traditions? What types of activities do you enjoy the most? These questions should be asked to yourself when planning your healthy habits.  Stick with your goals and include the food and activities that you prefer.

4. Stay hydrated.

Drink a lot of water. Keeping hydrated is crucial for health and well-being, but many people do not consume enough fluids each day. Around 60 percent of the body is made up of water and water helps dissolve minerals and nutrients, making them more accessible to the body. It also helps remove waste products.

5. Get some sleep

You might hear of the phrase, “sleep is for the weak”, but no it is not true. A man needs sleep in order to survive. Stick to a sleep schedule. It is good to set aside eight hours for sleep. The recommended amount of sleep for a healthy adult is at least 7 hours. Most people don’t need more than eight hours in bed to achieve this goal.
